Books, Chocolate Drops, and Mom

Yesterday we went to the library and loaded up on books: how to draw bugs and cars, lots of books on Cats, a couple of SpongeBob comic books, and a couple of books from the The Dance Fairy series. The Abington library is great because the kids section is downstairs so it is separate from the rest of the library, and you don't have to be so quiet. Another cool thing about this library is that it has lots on neon, some of which I made. The girls get a kick out of that. On the way home we stopped at The Pretzel Factory and got some minis. My mother came up in the afternoon to visit and watch the girls so that John and I could go see The Carolina Chocolate Drops at the TLA. What a great night we had. We headed down to South Street early and got some dinner at Percy Street BBQ. Mmmmm.....so yummy and they had a decent selection of beer (in cans) We walked down to the TLA afterwards and the timing worked out perfectly that as soon as we walked in the door, The Carolina Chocolate Drops were taking the stage. John and I found a great spot right up front, off to the side, where we could see perfectly. The band sounded great and it was a good show. I was a little disappointed that they didn't play a couple of songs that I really like, but otherwise an excellent show.

We got home late and I was really tired today. I spent the morning talking with my mom, which was nice. She is still really grieving for Cory, but slowing finding her way without him. She gave me a little skull made from rose quartz. I really like it. I'm glad she got to spend some time with the girls, and I think the girls had a nice time with her too. After she left, Ani asked me to help her build some things with Legos. I was still so tired by the afternoon that I took a nap until John got home from work, then I went out in the neon shop for a few hours and began working on sign for a woman who collects neon signs, and has this crazy collection of well over 100 signs. She commissioned me to make a sign for an artist friend of hers. It is a detailed design with lots of bending, and she wants it by the end of the month. I am a little nervous about having enough time to get it done, so I am happy that I got it started. And actually, I got quite a bit done. I'm glad John didn't mind getting dinner together so that I could stay out and work.
Celia played the Wii for 8 hours today. It's pretty crazy, but it doesn't bother me. She doesn't do that every day.
